Sacred Marriage is one of first books I read when I started seriously dating Katie.  I was excited that God had sent me such an amazing gift  and I wanted to not only cherish her but be everything  God wanted me to be for her.  I was looking forward to fun with Katie and all the things being married to her would bring.  When I started reading Gary mentioned “What if God designed marriage to make you holy instead of happy?”

As much as I hate to admit this I almost stopped reading there. What kind of book is this?  I continued on to learn that through sacrifice and cherishing my wife, I could have all those things God desires for us in marriage.  Yes, marriage helps prepare us for Him, but he created marriage to be fun, great and exciting.

He served on the teaching team at Second Baptist Church, Houston for 11 years and is currently on the teaching team at Cherry Hills Community Church in Highlands Ranch, CO. Gary is also an adjunct faculty member at Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon and was previously an adjunct faculty member at Houston Theological Seminary in Houston, Texas.
